Trace Adkins wrote openly about his 25-year battle with alcohol in a book called 'Then They Do,' named after his 2003 hit of the same name. He blamed the addiction for his failed marriages, jail time, drunk driving accidents and for getting shot by his ex-wife. He said he'd grown intolerable. He went to rehab on Christmas in 2002 and came out a new man. His personal and professional life have taken off since. "Things that happened in my daily life that would have made me go, 'F--- that, I'll go and get drunk,' now make me smile," he says.
