After a five-month hiatus, Trace Adkins has finally returned to Twitter!

There has been a lot happening in the 'You're Gonna Miss This' hitmaker's life over the past few weeks. He recently announced he's ready to resume touring again, and just embarked on a summer tour that runs through late September.

Adkins seems to be enjoying this new phase of his life, tweeting, “It’s good to be back on the road. That's what we do. That's my life." It's his first tweet in five months, with the last one being on Jan. 12, when he said, "Up here in my suite, overlooking the pools. Behave yourselves." That was the same day he embarked on the Country Cruising ship as a headliner, but instead of performing on the ship, he checked into rehab.

Times have been tough for Adkins -- in addition to rehab, he lost his dad and divorced his wife. But things are looking up, and not only has he returned to Twitter -- he's also back at it in country music, where he should be.

“I’m excited, recharged and ready to get back on the road,” Adkins says. “I owe a debt of gratitude to everyone for the outpouring of encouragement and support over the past few months. It’s hard to put into words how much comfort you take from hearing ‘We’ve got your back.’ So these shows are for you guys — thanks.”
