Trisha Yearwood was very candid during her weekly Facebook Live chat, T’s Coffee Talk, last week, when she discussed how she has learned to appreciate Mother's Day since losing her own mom.

“When you have your mom, you never think about the people who don’t,” Yearwood says. “It just doesn’t occur to you that Mother’s Day is tough for people. Now that I’ve lost my mom, Mother’s Day is tough for me.”

While Yearwood explains that she while does still celebrate the holiday with being a "bonus mom" to husband Garth Brooks' three daughters, it's still difficult.

“Mother's Day is bittersweet for me. I’m a bonus mom of three girls, so I celebrate that way, but I miss my mom… If you have your mom, not just on Mother’s Day, call her every single day,” she urges. “Do not take it for granted. If you don’t have your mom, find a mom and hug her, and you have all my strength on Mother’s Day.”

Yearwood was home in Nashville for a few hours while filming her weekly chat to work on her television show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, and said that since Brooks lost his own mother, he celebrates Mother's Day by picking up the phone and calling a few moms that he knows and respects.

Fans interested in being a part of an upcoming episode of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen can submit videos via Facebook. Each day leading up to Friday, May 6, Yearwood will post a question for fans to respond with video answers using #TellTrisha.
