Trisha Yearwood soon make her ‘Nashville’ debut!

The show will host its own fictional version of the CMA Awards, and Yearwood will appear, which is ironic given that she’s booked to present at the real CMA Awards in a few weeks. In the ‘Nashville’ rendition of Country Music’s Biggest Night, the stars of the show have the opportunity to see real country stars (like Yearwood) in action.

Rolling Stone Country reports that Yearwood will present an award on the fake CMA Awards stage, although we’re not sure if it’s an honor for a ‘Nashville’ star or a real life singer.

Yearwood says there are definitely similarities between what she experienced during the filming and the real awards show.

“It’s actually very similar,” she explains. “The only difference is I’m not in a gown and full hair and makeup at 10 o’clock in the morning. But you look at the teleprompter and you rehearse what you’re going to say. If you’re presenting [an award], it’s a pretty easy gig. This is good; it will be good rehearsal for me for the actual CMA Awards in a few weeks.”

Yearwood admits that she and hubby Garth Brooks don’t watch a lot of TV, but they are fans of ‘Nashville.’ While the legend wasn’t initially sure how well the show would portray Music City, she thinks they’re doing a good job and getting it right.

“The way Nashville, Southerners, the music industry sometimes gets portrayed, you just never know. But I especially love to watch it for the city,” Yearwood explains. “They’re at the Bluebird, or I know that drummer, you see people that you know. Then you get sucked into the story and you’re waiting to see what happens. Now that I know a little bit ahead about what’s happening, I’ve got to have some conversations with the script writers. I’ve got some changes that need to be made! [Laughs]”

The Band Perry and Joe Nichols will also appear on ‘Nashville’ for the faux CMAs. The episode will be broadcast on Nov. 19, while the real 2014 CMA Awards are Nov. 5 — both air on ABC.
