Florida Georgia Line have had one heck of a year, with the release of their album 'Anything Goes' and singer Tyler Hubbard's engagement. Both the singer and his duo partner, Brian Kelley, have found the women they'll spend their lives with -- Kelley wed last year -- while Hubbard popped the question recently in a helicopter.

It was an especially meaningful place for the FGL singer to propose, given that his father was killed in a helicopter crash.

"There's several reasons I wanted to do that," Hubbard explains in a chat with Taste of Country. "I wanted to do it on our property, but I didn't want to take her out on my tractor and propose to her, so I figured we'd do it from a helicopter."

The singer shares that he didn't want helicopters to forever represent his father's death, rather something positive.

"Just kind of leaving that memory of a helicopter in a positive light, you know what I'm saying, and to kind of have that memory instead of the other memory is a lot better," he says. "You know, for us, it was an epic night and it was an awesome thing. I still love flying in helicopters, I love flying in planes and it is something I may end up doing down the road and it's not all bad."

Hubbard dishes that his wedding will take place in the summer of 2015.
