Vinny Hickerson of the country duo Trailer Choir is now engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Lori Diaz. "Big Vinny," who is also a contestant on the hit weight loss show 'The Biggest Loser,' proposed while the pair were on a romantic date at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry, which was filmed for an episode of the show to air on Tuesday.

Clearly, she said yes, and Hickerson reveals that it feels like he has "a million pounds of weight off my shoulders."

He tells PEOPLE that he chose the Opry as their special place: "I wanted to take her there because it's a place where so many dreams have come true, right there on that stage." But perhaps equally as jaw-dropping is that the couple were serenaded -- one on one -- by Thompson Square, who sang their well-known budding love song 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not.'

Diaz, 29, explains, "I couldn't believe they were there just for us in this huge, amazing place."

"There was no one there but us and a camera crew. We sat down in the front row and he gives me a spiel about how he loves me more than anything," she continues, spilling the rest of the juicy details from the engagement.

Hickerson tells the magazine that he purchased a ring that reminded him of the Eiffel Tower because that symbol makes him think of beauty and love -- like the love at first sight feeling he had for his fiancee.

Hickerson joined 'The Biggest Loser' to motivate himself to become a fitter, healthier husband and father to Diaz's 9-year-old son, Brennon. So far, he is down to 314 lbs. from 426 lbs. when he started.

He adds, "My biggest dream is to be a great husband and a great father and fall in love." Now the Trailer Choir singer can live out his dreams with his dream lady.
