Kid Rock got his start in the Detroit underground music scene as a deejay, and used that to launch a recording career as a hardcore rapper.

The 45-year-old first rose to fame as a rapper and rocker, but he brings unusually diverse influences to his music, including classic rock and country. Beginning with his album Cocky in 2001, he has moved his sound more toward those influences, but his legendary live shows are a lively mix of everything.

Kid Rock scored a big single with “Picture,” a country ballad he recorded as a duet with longtime friend Sheryl Crow, and he’s also hit with “All Summer Long,” which borrows extensively from classic rock and is a modern-day Southern anthem.

The superstar is one of the most energetic and engaging live performers in the business, and Kid Rock will be armed with those songs, plus fan favorites including "Cowboy," "Rock and Roll Jesus," "Wasted Time" and "Bawitdaba" when he takes the stage at Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, Minn., to headline Saturday night (Aug. 5) of WE Fest 2016.

The three-day country music and camping festival takes place Aug. 4-6, and also features fellow headliners Eric Church and Tim McGraw, on top of a daily lineup of the biggest names in country music today. For more information, visit the festival's website.
