While Curtis Grimes didn't quite impress Blake Shelton with his rendition of the tune 'Hillbilly Bone' on his first appearance on NBC's singing competition 'The Voice,' the 25-year-old singer from Gilmer, Texas, won a spot on coach Cee Lo Green's team.

Before making it on to 'The Voice,' Grimes had been grinding it out on the country music scene since giving up his dream of playing professional baseball to be with a girl, with whom he later broke up.

He took a big leap when he won the Austin leg of Kenny Chesney's 'Next Big Star' contest, which led to a gig opening for the country superstar. Along with his backing band, Grimes has also played shows with LeAnn Rimes, Jack Ingram and other major acts.

The young entertainer has already released a full-length album, 'Lonely River,' which features the single 'A Girl Like You,' which can be previewed in the in-the-studio video below. The album and the single are currently available on iTunes.

Now that Grimes is competing on Cee Lo's team on 'The Voice,' it'll be interesting to see the direction the country crooner takes on his promising career path.
