William Michael Morgan fell in love with his single "I Met a Girl" instantly. It was written by Sam Hunt, and although Morgan hasn't met Hunt (yet), he tells Taste of Country Nights he'd love to collaborate with the "Break Up in a Small Town" singer.

“I’d love to get in a room and write with him. He’s a great writer," Morgan raves. "He’s got a way of painting those pictures. I loved ‘I Met a Girl’ … I fell in love with it.”

"I Met a Girl" is Morgan's debut single, but he's been signed for roughly three-and-a-half years. The first couple of years were spent writing and working toward his goal of being a successful country artist.

“For the first two years we just wrote and wrote and wrote. Tried to find songs, make connections. Just doing the whole Nashville thing," he says.

Nashville has always been in Morgan's life. Although he grew up in Mississippi, his family started coming to Music City when he was a teenager. When he turned 18, he moved to the Tennessee capitol and by 19 was signed with Warner Bros. and Warner Chapel Publishing.

There's no word yet on Morgan's debut album, but his single is now on iTunes, and he was picked as one of our Hot Artists to Watch in 2016.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
