Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson paired up for a performance that was one of the highlights of an all-star tribute concert to Kristofferson's life and legacy, and Taste of Country readers are getting an early look at their performance via this exclusive premiere.

The footage is culled from the Life & Songs of Kris Kristofferson tribute concert that took place in Nashville on March 16, 2016, featuring all-star performances of Kristofferson's incomparable songs from  Emmylou HarrisRosanne Cash, Buddy Miller, Lee Ann WomackJennifer NettlesReba McEntireEric ChurchDierks BentleyJamey JohnsonAlison KraussLady Antebellum and more.

In addition to Nelson and Kristofferson's show-stopping rendition of "Sunday Morning Coming Down," the night included performances of "Me and Bobby McGee," "Help Me Make It Through the Night," "To Beat the Devil" and more Kristofferson classics, culminating in an all-star performance of "Why Me" to close out the show.

Blackbird Presents Records and CMT have partnered for the broadcast premiere and CD/DVD release of The Life & Songs of Kris Kristofferson, which will debut on CMT in a 90-minute broadcast on Friday, Oct. 27 at 10PM ET/PT. Blackbird Presents Records will release the full-length concert film as a CD/DVD combo, which is available now for pre-order via the project's website as well as PledgeMusic.

"Few musicians have had as profound an impact on music as Kris Kristofferson," Blackbird CEO Keith Wortman says in a press release. "It's only fitting that we celebrated his artistry just blocks from where the legend was born, with both his friends and contemporaries and those who are continuing his legacy with raw, honest songwriting of their own."

Fans can also purchase exclusive merchandise from PledgeMusic, including a limited edition framed poster from the night of the tribute concert, a color photo and an Epiphone Ltd. Ed. 1963 J-45 guitar, all personally signed by Kristofferson. Merchandise bundles that include the official concert T-shirt, hat and CD/DVD are available via Blackbird Presents the project's website as well.
