Willie Nelson is one of the most gifted musicians of his day, but he's also an accomplished actor. The country icon's acting resume includes Honeysuckle RoseThe Electric Horseman, Songwriter and soon, a new film titles Waiting for the Miracle to Come.

The story follows a young girl (Sophie Lowe) who finds a letter from her late father that leads her to a goldmine in a desolate part of California. Once there, she meets two retired stars (Nelson and Charlotte Rampling), who give her some sage wisdom about life. Although she set out to find a fortune, she ultimately discovers something far more valuable than gold.

"I wrote this script for Willie Nelson; his presence and stillness as an actor is unlike anyone else," says director Lian Lunson (quote via Rolling Stone Country). "And growing up I always wanted to be Charlotte Rampling, so bringing these two icons together on screen is a dream come true for me." Lunson previously worked with Nelson for her 1997 documentary, Willie Nelson: Down Home.

U2 frontrunner Bono will write a song for Nelson to sing on the soundtrack. Nelson and Bono have a rich history together; the rock star wrote "Slow Dancing" for the country star back in 1989. They also recorded the song together for U2's 2011 Duals album.

The fantasy adventure flick is set to begin filming soon on Nelson's private ranch in Luck, Texas. There is no word yet as to the film's anticipated release date.
