(Continued From Part 1)

Looking ahead to 2013, are there any tour plans that you can talk about at this point?

Not yet. I actually have meetings about that today. We’ll see!

You have even become quite the Twitter guy in recent months.

Yeah! Eventually that’s going to back off. Like Brad Paisley said … I need a helmet. You can’t just throw me onto something like that and go. I need supervision [laughs]!

Now that you have gotten used to life as a country star, what has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced?

Being away from my family is the biggest thing because I miss them so much. There is always something to do … that’s been the toughest part is just being away.

How much time do you get to spend at home?

We’re home every week, but you miss everything. You miss the volleyball games and you miss the soccer games and you miss basketball games, because that stuff usually happens on the weekends or Saturday mornings. That’s tough.

Does your family pretty much understand why you have to miss all of it?

Oh yeah. It’s funny… my wife came with me this trip to Nashville, and we were leaving the house. My son was like, 'Mommy … don’t go!' She was like, 'What about daddy?' He was like, "Well he has to go!" [laughs] It was very funny [laughs]!

Do you ever take them out with you on the road during the summer months when they’re not in school?

Always! Summers are always spent on the road. My son won’t get into baseball because he wants to go on the road.

How old are they now?

They are 17, 11 and 7. It’s crazy how fast they are growing.

There were some rumors of a Hootie and the Blowfish reunion recently. Is that something that is going to happen in the near future, or are they just rumors?

Some dude heard me say that and decided to do a scoop about it by reporting it. We don’t have anything planned, so no. I have a couple of more country records to make before I ever go back to that. But then after that happens some day, I’m coming right back to country music.

Good answer! We're sure that will make a lot of your country fans very happy!

Like I’ve said to many people … I’m here until you guys say you don’t want me here anymore!
