8. His First Movie Role Was in a Terrorist Action Film

George Strait played himself in a 1982 movie called 'The Soldier.' The plot, according to IMDB, is as follows: "Terrorists take over a plutonium bomb and threaten to detonate it in a Saudi Arabian oil field. A special anti-terrorist unit is sent in to stop them."

How a country musician fits into that context is anyone's guess, as very few people watched the movie. The film grossed just over $6 million and there isn't a memorable actor involved in the project (sans Strait). We hear the scene with the King involved a barroom brawl, however.
