It hasn't been an easy couple of years for Maddie & Tae. Tae Dye went through a personal breakup, and together the country duo underwent a complete label change. The sun is shining again, and a new single will be out at the end of the month. A concept album is coming, too.

"It's like a story," Dye explains in a pre-ACM Awards interview with radio station WYRK's Clay & Liz. "Basically, through the whole record, it's going to start at the beginning of a relationship, and then it's gonna go into the 'in love' phase, then the 'breakup' phase, just like it always happens."

"And then, at the end, it was really important for us to have that redemptive moment. I think anyone is going to be able to relate because you can go through heartbreak in all different settings, in all kinds of friendships and relationships," Dye adds.

Fans were further teased on Wednesday (April 18) as Maddie & Tae shared a blurry picture of cover art on their Instagram page:

"New album? New Single? I really don’t care,” one fan writes alongside the mysterious video. “I just need new music from you guys stat.” The duo walked the red carpet at the ACM Awards in Last Vegas on Sunday (April 15), and they say they're thankful to celebrate their country music family.

Country fans will recall that Maddie & Tae exploded in huge fashion onto the country music scene in 2015 with their debut single "Girl in a Country Song," which soared to the number spot on the country radio charts.
