"Sierra" is Maddie & Tae's version of Toby Keith's "How Do You Like Me Now?" The country duo's fourth single from their debut album tells Maddie Marlow's very real bully story, and it doesn't hold back the details.

The women stay true to the instantly contagious hooks and riffs that make Start Here such an enjoyable listen out of the box. "Sierra" could have been a very dark song in the hands of another writing team, but while Marlow and Tae Dye are more than capable of making you cry, they again choose to share this story with smiles on their faces.

The song is better for it. Few who've gone through high school will be unable to recognize "Sierra," a bully that has the nuanced ability to carve up thick skin with a few sharp words, and once in she pokes around at a few old wounds. There may never be enough anti-bully songs, especially those that pack a punch in a true "Bless your heart" kind of way.

Did You Know?: "Sierra" was the leader of a group of girls that terrorized Maddie Marlow in high school. The singer says the girl would later ask her for free concert tickets.

Maddie & Tae, "Sierra" Lyrics:

“I wish I had something nice to say / About that girl and her million-dollar face / But beauty only gets you so far /A heart of pure gold is something very rare / And the only one she has is on that necklace that she wears / Acts like she's some kind of movie star.”

“Ooh, it might be not be Christian / To be wishing what I'm wishing.”

“Sierra, Sierra / Girl, let me tell ya / One day, you might need those friends that you ditched / Sierra, Sierra / Life ain't all tiaras / You're gonna find out that karma's a …”

“To tell the truth, I ain't even mad / 'Cause I know the universe is gonna get you back / All I have to do is bite my tongue / Ooh, I hope that I'm around when / You get knocked up or knocked down.”

“Sierra, Sierra / Girl, let me tell ya / You can't break boys' hearts like you're flipping a switch / Sierra, Sierra / Life ain't all tiaras / You're gonna find out that karma's a …”

“Big pain in the as far as I can tell / Yours is adding up fast / Sierra.”

“Sierra, Sierra / Girl, let me tell ya / That high horse you're riding can buck you off quick / Sierra, Sierra / Life ain't all tiaras / You're gonna find out that karma's a … / Pardon my French, but karma's a mmm.”
