In all fairness to Kinky Friedman, he was part humorist and part country singer, so we'll assume he sang this anti-women's rights anthem with tongue firmly planted in cheek. It was released in 1974 and was not a hit on the radio, although there is little doubt a certain generation of men celebrated his message. "You uppity women I don't understand / Why you gotta go and try to act like a man," Friedman sings. These days, even Rush Limbaugh would find the topic off color.
