Since winning the title of CMT's 'Next Superstar' last summer, fans across the country have anxiously been awaiting new music from Matt Mason. Well the wait is finally over, as the singer has released his new six-song EP titled 'Chasing Stardust.'

Part of the prize for winning CMT's 'Next Superstar' competition was getting to be the opening act on the 2011 CMT Tour. Matt Mason was crowned the 'Next Superstar' in June, and as promised, spent his fall opening for the tour's headliner Luke Bryan, as well as Josh Thompson and Lee Brice.

CMT's 'Next Superstar' winner, Matt Mason, has been winning over fans of country music for the past several weeks, as the world has been introduced to his mysterious look and his traditional, modern day outlaw sound.

Fans filled the Franklin, Tenn. tourist spot, The Factory on Friday evening, June 10, for the live season finale of CMT's reality singing competition, 'Next Superstar.' The two finalists who survived the competition were modern day outlaw Matt Mason and the soulful Steven Clawson.

Kristin Chenoweth is well on her way to having her own career in the country music industry, as she's gearing up to release her first album. Some of country music's fans, however, were just introduced to the actress through CMT's reality singing competition 'Next Superstar' when she appeared on the first episode as the guest celebrity judge.

This evening, America will tune in to the annual CMT Music Awards where they will see country music's biggest stars battle it out for the title of many categories, all of which are voted on by you, the fans. Among those performing on the show will be hot star on the rise Matt Mason from CMT's reality singing competition 'Next Superstar.'

Friday night, CMT's 'Next Superstar' gave the two finalists - Matt Mason and Steven Clawson - one final chance to impress America before opening the phone lines for fans to cast their votes on who they feel is the future "superstar" of country music...

Matt Mason first won over country music fans as a competitor on the fourth season of USA's 'Nashville Star' in 2006. Now, five years later, Mason is back in the spotlight as one of the leading vocalists and performers on CMT's 'Next Superstar.'
