This is perhaps the most infamous country music quote of all time. Defender of classic country Steve Earle didn't care for the new Nashville sound that was up-and-coming in the '90s, and he wasn't afraid to say so.

The outspoken Steve Earle will not play Tucson, Ariz. on July 4, 2011 as planned. Singer-songwriter-author-actor-non-shaver Steve Earle has announced the release of his new album, "I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive,' due on April 26 via New West Records.  The 11-track album was produced by the ubiquitous T-Bone Burnett, and will be followed in two weeks by a novel of the same name.
