Season 3 of McB Dynasty aired this past Monday, but before the season premiere, Steven McB Jr. sat down with me to talk about his brothers. That's debatable, and I don't I don't think that that's quite uh you know, he's not quite the tough guy on the ranch for sure. What life is really like offscreen. A lot of the episodes don't showcase the actual work that we do or if they do showcase the work, it's like a very short clip of it because it's not entertaining to watch us sit in a tractor all day long. And how his dad is doing in prison. Really, he's mostly concerned about our well-being. So, our calls are he's mostly asking how I'm doing personally, professionally. Steven is the uncle to two nieces, and another niece is on the way. He posts a lot about being an uncle on social media. Online, it looks like he's loving it, and in real life, he is. And it's so funny because in season one there's a clip of me talking about, you know, grandb babies in the in the family and, you know, what that would do to the family dynamic and I'm like, man, I just I can't imagine us with babies. And now we have two of them with a third on the way and I'm loving every second of it. What do you love about it specifically, like getting to be the uncle side of things and maybe not the dad? Yeah, I was going to say the uncle side of things really fun because I get to hang out with them. We have a great time. I get to feed them a bunch of sugary snacks and then I send them home whenever they're ready to be changed in a diaper or whenever they start crying. So, I really get the uh nothing but positives whenever I hang out with them. Blair speaks animal already. So, we go on rides every single evening. She gets to see the bison, the cows, the horses, the sheep, the donkeys, and she knows every single animal sound. So, every time she sees an animal, she starts making the animal sound, likes to talk to them. So, she's grown up to be a full-blown country gal. If you remember, after last season, we learned Steven McB senior plead guilty to federal crop insurance fraud, received a 2-year prison sentence and was ordered to pay over $4 million in restitution. Obviously, with my dad being gone, whenever we hit a point where we have a problem that we couldn't figure out or the stress became overwhelming, he was always the fall guy where we'd call dad. That was like the ultimate like we don't know what to do. Call dad, he'll figure it out. Well, now it's we don't have him. So the boys have to figure it figure it out. The brothers have to meet and it's really not any one person that's taking that leadership role. It's really really leadership by committee and all of us are making decisions as a team which I think has really contributed to this situation and how far we have come as an operation leaving the MC sons like Steven said to step up to the plate. Not only are we filming a television show, so there's the pressures of being on camera, but whenever the cameras leave our actual problems that you're seeing on the TV show, they don't leave with the cameras. So, we're dealing with these on and off camera all day, all night long, whether it be obviously the debt problems we're facing, the business struggles, even our personal lives. It is a pressure cooker of a situation that's really hard for people to wrap their heads around unless you're in it yourself. I wanted to know while his family is dealing with the homeront, how is Steven McB Senior doing? How is your dad? He's doing great. Yeah, the man is the most optimistic glass half full thinking guy I've ever been around in my life. Every time I talk to him, he is upbeat, positive, and you know, obviously prison is not a great environment. So for him to, you know, just say he's doing great. He's focusing on fitness, reading books, and then really he's mostly concerned about our well-being. So our calls are he's mostly asking how I'm doing personally, professionally. So the the trailer came out the other day and all of his buddies were showing it to him because it was yeah on their computers or their their television in there. So it's pretty funny. Has he shared any any like two cents that his buddies have given him of like his bu his buddies said that they loved the show and they cannot wait for for uh the season premiere. They're all going to be sitting around the TV watching it. My dad's like I don't want to be in there watching it. Okay. So he's not going to watch it. No. No. He said, "I'm going to go to my cell and read a book while they're watching it." He's like, "I can't watch you guys." We see the more social side to the McB family on screen, but Steven assured me that's only a percentage of life shown. Oh, yeah. A lot of times people will comment because they see us on TV and a lot of the episodes don't showcase the actual work that we do or if they do showcase the work, it's like a very short clip of it because it's not entertaining to watch us sit in a tractor all day long. And a lot of people are like, "Man, do these boys ever work?" like are they ever even at the farm? All these episodes show them at dinners or bars or traveling to Nashville and I'm like that is 1% of our truly 1% of our life. Yeah. You're like no actually we do work. Yeah. That that clip you see on TV of Cole in a tractor for 30 seconds. He was in that tractor for 14 hours that day. And while you might think, ooh, they're big reality television stars now. Their world must be wild. It's really not like that. It's this is another one that people don't ex, you know, don't really expect. they see it and they're like, "Man, you guys are just TV stars now or you know, most of your income's coming in from the TV show." And I'm like, "We're still working seven days a week." Honestly, there's not a thing that's changed other than walking down the street and people coming up and saying, "Hey," or recognizing us. So much support that we are very appreciative for. But other than that, lives have not changed. We're still grinding day in and day out. the new season coming out. What is something that you're excited outside of, and I don't know if excited about just the dynamics that you guys are working with now, but something that you we haven't learned in previous seasons that this season we're going to focus more on? I think just having the babies and the family, you're going to see the love and really how close we are as a family. Not that you didn't get that in previous seasons, but I feel like we've evolved as a family, have settled down as a family, and you're going to get to see more of who we are on a day-to-day basis rather than who we are whenever we go out to bars or whatever that may be. And I think that just the the closeness that we have, how we've bonded and become closer throughout these challenges is something I'm really proud of as a family. And I think you'll get to see all of that play out on season 3. At least I hope I hope we do. I haven't seen any of the episodes. Now, let's have a little fun. Last season when I interviewed them, I noticed a lot of people compared them to the Yellowstone Dutton family ranch on TV. Here's who they said was the character Beth Dutton in real life. Who do you who are you going to be like Jamie? Jamie Jamie. They like to mess with me. Cole likes to mess with me cuz I'm Brit. You're Jamie. You are Beth. Cole, you're not. I know. Cole, did you just receive that? You're like, I know, babe. I mean, a little bit. I'm I'm like I feel like I can be ripped some days. Like, I'm kind of a You know, you're not intimidating at all. I Oh, come on. I have my moments. Wait, I'm more so concerned that we're calling Stephen Jamie. Like, Stephen, are you a little shady? Like, should we No, I No, it's because I'm the one that's always on computers and Cole likes to call me spreadsheet boy. And I don't They know that it gets to me, so they all like to mess with me and call me Jamie. It's not It's not factual. Naturally, I had to circle back. And y'all gave Cole such a hard time saying that he's Beth. Oh yeah. Does that still ring true? It does. He since he's had Blair and is now working on baby number two, he's become more of a family man. But the the Beth Dutton is still down in there somewhere. Yeah. So, who does he now resemble more? He likes to think he's like he's transitioned into the Rip role, and he's not tough enough for that. He cries like they Rip doesn't cry.
