Um, naming this project Things You Didn't See really made sense because there people do know a lot about my life, but there are parts of my life that I haven't really shown. And whether it's the insecurities that I've faced or the way that I grew up and what makes me me, the love in my life, which is like, you know, a whole new side. I feel like when you listen to this record, you know, whatever, like if you are like, "Oh, Priscilla's like this, that, and the other." I feel like listening through to this record will be people's chance to like really understand me, you know, cuz like my my personality is pretty chaotic, but like also so is this record. You know, there's songs that are like really fun and like viby like Goodwill to Gucci or Cecilia, and then there's other songs that'll break your heart like Couldn't care less or Things You Didn't See. And I just knew that this was my chance to show a little bit of a different side. >> And you're kind of doing that not only with your music, but yourself. >> Yeah. >> You know, and I want to I relate to you, so this is going to make this easier to talk about. >> Yeah. >> But that used to be me. >> Wow. >> I lost a bunch of weight. >> You look amazing. >> Thanks. I you know this p I would say this past year has not been my biggest career year but it has been my biggest me year and it's like something I'm so proud of you know because I was just at a point where I'm playing show after show. I'm exhausted. I just like started like not feeling like myself anymore. And it's it's hard to explain like you get it when you're just like mentally like yo like I'm not there. >> Yeah. And so I was actually about two years ago I was in New Zealand and I had like a full like come to Jesus meeting with myself and Jesus and I was like I'm going back to Nashville and I am going to take a hold of my life mentally, physically and emotionally, spiritually, all the things. And I I mean I have like I've never ran a mile in my life. This past Christmas day I ran a 5K. >> Good for you. And I'm challenging myself to do things that are really freaking hard because I know that that's only going to help me. This career is hard. So, if I can prove to myself that I can do really hard things, it makes this a lot easier of being like, "Girl, you can do it. >> You proved this to yourself." But no, I feel like I feel like as strong as I've ever been like mentally and physically right now. >> What are some things that you little things that you can do now? Like I remember one the first time I could get back on a roller coaster, >> right? >> I like freaked out, you know? Like what are some things that that were like that for you recently? >> I mean, I just feel like it's so like I've always been pretty confident. Like I mean, no matter what shape, size I am, like I was always rocking the booty shorts and feeling great. Like, you know, it's it's just putting on clothes and feeling good and feeling confident. And like again, you know, back to the whole running thing, which I'm not a runner. Um, proving to myself that like, yo, you can actually run. Good for you. >> So, there are certain things that I'm like, "Okay, girl." You know, and I can also rock the crap out of the stage. I was going to say is performing easier because so like when I was that big I this is going to sound weird but I did like a rap song and like our radio station brought in Nelly and I got to open up for Nelly. >> Yes, you did. >> So it was one song I couldn't breathe at the end. I was like I don't know how like is performing that much easier now? Like >> it is. It is. I mean all I think it it helps all around like just being happier. your relationships are stronger. There's so much like just like taking care of yourself like you see so many parts of your life enhance. >> Yeah, >> that's it. Like, so yeah, I'm feeling good. I'm working. I'm putting out this album. I'm like, I'm ready to go. Y'all put me in. Tell me where to go, who I need to meet, who I need to see. I'll be there. >> I want to talk about >> Zero Sleep. Well, back back in your day, uh, when you were opening up on on big tours and stuff like that, uh, let's talk about tour gifts from from the heavies that got you stuff. What did what did some of them get you? >> John Party got me, which you know what, now that you said that, he got me a very nice, very generous gift card to go pick out any guitar that I wanted, which I told him, I was like, we're I'm not going to go do this until you're with me. I want you to help me pick out the guitar. So that was really awesome. Still need to do that. >> Okay. So you need to get up with him. >> Yeah, I need to do that. >> Is it more because you're you don't know the budget? So like you want to be there and be like >> I know the budget but I mean you know he might be like silly you really need the one with the sparkles. I was just out with uh Cole Swendell and the first night of the tour he wrote him and Carrie Edwards wrote um on a a really nice bottle of champagne and it was like welcome to this tour. I'm so thankful to have you out. Such a big fan of you. And it was one of those moments like he like that's exactly like it's setting the tone right off the bat to be like we are so thankful to have you here. Like I thought that that was so cool and it was something that I feel like I'm always going to remember like anybody that we have out like do something the first night that's like >> what like this is so cool you know >> and you're about to do your own deal right tell me about that. >> Oh my gosh we well we just announced all of the tour dates which is so exciting. Um we had we had released a good chunk of them earlier on this year. Um I'm so excited. I, you know, I say that I I challenged myself a lot with this record. I wanted to do something that would shock people. I wanted to challenge myself, you know, with the songwriting side, visually, creatively, sonically, all of it. Um, but the same thing with the tour. Like, I wanted this tour, I want this tour to be something that when the fans show up to, they're like, "Whoa, I was not expecting this." you know, I've been touring pretty hard for the past 5 years, so working on this tour itself was so much fun. And I'm like, okay, like I'm starting off the tour just like acoustic me and a guitar. This is crazy, you know? Um, but yes, we just announced it. Um, I'm playing the Ryman. >> Wow. >> In Nashville. So, like that's really exciting. I've never headlined the Ryman, so I'm very thankful y'all are going to have to come. >> Of course. Yeah. >> Um, yeah. We're going to Europe. like we are we are taking over. Okay, that is the plan this year. And y'all heard it here first. >> That is awesome. I love that. >> We're not sleeping, you know? We're just doing it. >> I got a couple more here. Um, seven years ago in 2018 in an interview I was I was watching. You said they asked you where you wanted to see yourself in the next 5 to 10 years. And you said, "In the next five years, I see myself on tour, opening for a big name." >> Check. >> And nominated for an ACM. >> Wow. >> Which you were nominated for two. >> Um, what does that mean to you looking back now that Wow, I did that. And then you also said in the next 10 after that, I'm going to headline. >> Yeah. >> Check before 10. >> That's awesome. So, you've accomplished the goals that you set out for yourself in 2018. How does that feel looking back at that? >> It feels awesome. I'm like, "Girl, dream bigger. Let's go." Like I >> That's so cool. >> I'm a big I make a vision board every year. Like at the beginning of the year, I make a full thing of just like dreams that I want, whether it's like crazy like out there. Some people might be like, "Girl," and I'm like, "I don't care. I dream like so big and like I just think of the little girl that moved to Nashville at 17 years old with 50 bucks to her name, not knowing anyone. I'm like, you literally can do whatever you want in this life and achieve all those things. There's not like there's not a scarcity, you know, in the world. And I I really try to believe that. And so it's it's awesome. It's it's something that I'm proud of. And I just hope, you know, continuing on like I can become as as big as I possibly can be in country music. >> Amen. >> In Jesus name. I did. >> How did you approach that? What did you think? >> I wouldn't I wouldn't have approached it at all had I not lost a bunch of weight myself. Uh definitely would not have approached that. Um and the other thing I would have approached it if she was like outwardly like I'm Priscilla Block and I just lost 200 pounds. But she's I mean that's what I did when I lost 250 lbs. But she, you know, didn't choose to lose she lost a bunch of weight and didn't choose to like talk about it ever. And um, you know, I was like, "Oh, okay. Well, let's talk about it." She did a little bit I feel like and maybe she hasn't done interviews where she's kind of gone on about it but she's she's shared a lot of social media images and this new confidence like you had she had to talk and she knew that like this was like a bullet point conversation for her even if it wasn't on her list of label approved bullet points. So you you got to ask especially since we're doing a video interview. >> Yeah, I love her. She's she's always like always a great interview, always bubbly, always a lot of personality. And I think a lot of that comes from how she was introduced, you know, to country music through like Tik Tok and social media. And, you know, she she's a very personalitydriven uh person. Even if she wasn't an artist, you know, when she enters the room, you she all the attention kind of goes to her. So, I feel like uh this is going to be extra. This might be the boost that she needs to break through. >> You know, she her Lizo Jelly Roll. I mean, a couple of artists who have kind of were a little larger in size. It's always interesting to me that the first thing that people do kind of when they start getting a little bit of a success, even if like like Priscilla released a song, I think it's called Thick Thighs, they always drop a ton of weight because you just have to cuz the the grind of the touring life and the promotional life is such that you have to eat just live life a little bit more healthy at a certain point. >> Yeah. I would say like touring would be like hard as far as eating healthy. I mean, I don't know. you have a lot when you have that much money you can get like the stuff you need but like you know do you want a plate of cut up cantaloupe for $10 or you know are you stopping at Wendy's on your way home on the tour bus you know so it's like you know it's it's hard you know but good for her man it's that's got to be a tough thing like Jelly Roll travels with with a chef like that's how hard it is like to you know >> right I don't think Priscilla Block has that kind of money. Like like she's still got to like do things like make sure she doesn't get the guac and the queso at Chipotle. >> Right. Right. Right. >> Go out and exercise. Like she has to make those kind of decisions herself. She's probably on the bus with her band too and they're maybe not all of them are eating super healthy. So a lot of temptation. Not drinking as much is going to be a big one for an artist. Just a little bit more intentional exercise between shows. doing like some jerky instead of like >> a bag of chips >> as a snack. >> Yeah, >> those are the decisions I think that an artist at her level's got to make because you know they don't you can't afford a nutritionist. How much would it cost to get a nutritionist in your life? >> Likeund probably. >> I mean if I mean if they don't have to travel with you I mean I could probably get a nutritionist on my teleel uh for free you know. >> Okay. little into the weeds of the Town Square Media Health Insurance Program there, but I I'm with you. I'm tracking, >> you know. I'm just saying like it depends on what kind of nutritionist. Now, if you if you're like uh traveling with a nutritionist, you know, because you're, you know, like Floyd Mayweather or somebody like that's different, I think, but >> you're looking for a little AI advice. >> Priscilla, headlining tour coming up. The tour opener question was a good one with her. Uh the 5 or the multi she didn't say the amount, did she? John party got her a gift card for a guitar, >> but had she yet to use it. >> Yeah. And the way she made it sound like she made it sound and I don't really know much about anything about guitars, but she made it sound like she would be able to pick out whatever one it was. And that that wasn't the issue, but I think more of the issue is a timing thing uh with John Hardy cuz she wants him to be there. Do you think it was for like Guitar Center or do you think it was for like some deeper Nashville secret place where the artists get their guitars? >> Well, there's that store right up the road from where we record. Um is it Grun's uh Greens uh guitar? It's it's right up the road from where we record in Nashville. I've been in there before and they have some very very high-end guitars. I would guess it's probably something more along those lines. Um, but in my head I'm thinking it's probably like $2 to $4,000 maybe is what he he clocked in for. Like that sounds right, don't it? >> That sounds about right. Yeah. Bold move for John Party. I mean, you know, I mean, no, I guess not. It's not a blank check. I don't know. Is it a blank check? What is it? I He He has There's no gift card. I wouldn't think I think it's just hey girl go to Guitar Center with me. Let's go. >> No, he said she said gift cards. So like >> Well, what? Okay, so it has to have a limit then. >> That Yeah. And she doesn't Maybe she doesn't have to get a guitar. Maybe she can buy several cheap guitars. Maybe she can get like a new PA system like >> you know I mean up to her to kind of maybe she can go to like one of those websites where you can sell your gift cards and just get the cash. Who knows what she's got. >> Yeah. Maybe she needs like 400 XLR cables to connect a microphone to a computer. >> 400 of them. >> She wants a swimming pool full of guitar picks. Now she can finally live that dream. >> Yeah. >> What's What's the best response you've gotten so far? Because we've asked a lot of artists this tour opening question and the opening gift. Like what's like the top three that you can remember? And are have there been any where you're like that that was a little cheap? >> A lot of Rolexes. Um lot of Rolexes. I remember uh the weirdest one is the Kenny Chesnney uh putting a sauna in Mega Moron's house um when she was on tour. >> Uh that had to be the weirdest one. Um, the one that kind of had me like, huh? Is Luke Bryan just giving an envelope of, you know, cash. Sounds like he forgot. You know, that's what you do when you're an uncle showing up to your nephew's birthday party at the last minute. >> Um, and there's been some other ones. Uh there's one that I never wrote anything about or it's hasn't seen the light of day yet just cuz I don't know how to I can't figure out what to do with it. But somebody it was one of the drakes I want to say Drake White uh not Drake Milligan Drake White got a spear from Zack Brown. Um some sort of like uh >> like an Aboriginal spear like you would >> Yeah. Yeah, like he said it. Yeah, I don't know. I don't really know what to do with that, but I'm assuming that's a lot of money like to get some sort of old spear. >> Well, that reminds me of the the guns Hardy got. Laney uh Wilson, >> at least one gun, if not two guns at this point. >> Yeah. And then um Hardy also got or Laney Wilson got Hardy a trip with his wife a vacation to a vineyard or something. Uh >> I don't know. There's been a they did there's definitely something there. And now that it gets talked about a lot hopefully some of these big dogs will you know step it up. I know Thomas Rhett just told me recently that he's uh got to figure out what he's going to buy Tucker Wetmore at the end of their tour here in the next week or two. >> We're slowly peer pressuring the industry for better gifts. What What would you want? Like if you were an opening act like what would move the needle for you and what would you be disappointed by? >> I mean honestly I kind a Rolex I'd be like ah cool that's nice. >> Agree. I want like I want one of the Motorola Razors. I want Yeah. I want like a golf cart. Like I want like something >> Yeah. >> Give me a vehicle. >> Yeah. Give me a vehicle. Like a Rolex is cool, but like where am I going to wear that to Thanksgiving dinner to show off to my like uncle?
