Vince Gill is the latest artist to be added to the lineup for 2012 MerleFest, set to take place in April. MerleFest is an annual festival that first started 25 years ago, bringing together famed musicians and music lovers of all ages to celebrate the memory of Eddy Merle Watson, the beloved son of American music icon Doc Watson.

With the addition of Gill to the premier music festival, MerleFest 25 will feature over 90 artists performing on the 14 stages set up during the four-day event that will be held on the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, N.C.

Fans eager to see Gill's performance will have to hang tight through the first day's lineup, as he is scheduled to be the closing performance on the evening of April 26. The festival will continue on through the night of April 29.

Other acts scheduled to appear at MerleFest 25 will include the legendary Jim Lauderdale, Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives, Alison Krauss and Union Station (feat. Jerry Douglas), as well as more country, folk and bluegrass acts.
