Brantley Gilbert and Sugarland‘s Kristian Bush will celebrate Halloween together this year. Both artists are set for the CMA Songwriter Series at Marathon Music Works in Nashville on Oct. 31.

Like VH1′s ‘Storytellers,’ the showcase — which allows songwriters to take the stage and peel back the layers to expose some of the intimate meanings of and inspirations for their songs before performing them for fans — is part of CMA’s Country Music Month, which leads up to the CMA Awards onNov. 1.

Bush summed up the event in superlative terms, comparing it to the “Super Bowl of writers’ nights.” Score!

“The CMA Awards bring out the best in everybody, and that applies to fans of country music as well – just being around the energy of Nashville during CMA Week is contagious,” the male half of the Sugarland duo said, according to GAC. “So to play this CMA Songwriters Showcase for all those dedicated fans, in the middle of all that energy? What an incredible honor. It feels like the Super Bowl of writers’ nights. I can only imagine how exciting it’s going to be to perform.”

Gilbert was similarly excited about participating in the upcoming event, since he considers songwriting to be such a cathartic experience for him. To be able to open up and reveal some of his personal experiences is something he happily anticipates.

“This is really cool that the CMA asked me to join some of the best songwriters around and give us the opportunity to share our stories,” the ‘Country Must Be Country Wide’ hitmaker said. “As all of my fans know, songwriting is very important to me and has definitely been therapeutic. Whether it’s about throwing a party in the sticks or getting over a girl, my music always seems to come from my personal experiences. I look forward to sharing more stories on this night.”
