It’s hard to believe there was ever a time Alan Jackson didn’t have a No. 1 single to his name. The country legend celebrates a milestone today, as on March 9, 1991, he garnered his very first No. 1 song with “I’d Love You All Over Again.”

“I’d Love You All Over Again” was featured on Jackson’s debut album Here in the Real World and was the fifth and final single from that record released to radio. The singer wrote the beautiful ballad for his wife, Denise, for their 10th wedding anniversary.

“Has it been ten years / Since we said “I do” / I’ve always heard marriage / Made one seem like two / But you’re looking better / Than you did back then / You still make this old heart give in,” he sings.

“I’d Love You All Over Again” began Jackson’s long reign at No. 1 on country radio, as he’d go on to receive 25 more chart toppers. Following his first big hit, his debut album reached Platinum status, marking sales of more than one million units.

The song is a personal favorite of the singer’s, as he included “I’d Love You All Over Again” on both 1995’s Greatest Hits Collection, as well as on his 2010 two-disc collection, 34 Number Ones.
