When you have Jennifer Lopez batting her megawatt eyelashes and singing along with you with that look in her eye, you know you are doing something right. And that's just what Scotty McCreery did tonight when he took on Kenny Rogers' 'She Believes in Me' for his third song on tonight's 'American Idol.'

Yes, the song is technically a country song, but it's also pop country, which is outside of McCreery's normal range. But with the way he sang it, he made us believe, and made us think, "What comfort zone?"

Steven Tyler was also feelin' it, saying, "I do believe that's the first big chorus you sang in a big way like that. You put it over the top for me."

Scotty McCreery keeps unlocking them doors with each passing episode of 'American Idol.' At one point, an audience member shouted, "Welcome to the finale, Scotty!"

We're going to paraphrase Randy Jackson here and proclaim that not only is Scotty McCreery in it to metaphorically win it; he just might actually literally win it all next week.

Good luck, Scotty. Taste of Country is rooting for you all the way.
