Happy first anniversary to Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert! The country couple celebrate one year of matrimonial bliss today (May 14). Professionally, they have soared with multiple awards and perhaps the best albums of their careers in the past year. But their strong bond has been tested with periods of personal sadness and controversy, too.

In this year in review, we look at all of the highs and lows of the couple’s time together. There is the music, the live performances, the CMA and ACM Awards, reality television, three deaths and three high-profile feuds. With long stretches of time apart, it hasn’t been an easy first year for Shelton and Lambert, but they’ve found ways to work around obstacles and emerge a stronger couple, more in love than they were when they danced the night away last spring.
