Blake Shelton Has Written a Very Personal New Tune, He Says
Despite a tough summer, Blake Shelton continues to keep busy, both performing as well as serving as a coach on NBC’s The Voice, and he has still found time to write some new songs along the way.
Shelton tweeted in the early hours of Friday, Aug. 21, that he had penned a new tune that was deeply personal and significant for him.
Wrote a song so important to me I can't believe it.. Thank you Jon Randall and @JessiLAlexander…

The reveal comes exactly a month after the “Sangria” hitmaker and Miranda Lambert‘s divorce was finalized, although there’s nothing to indicate the song is about her or their marriage. However, it is evident that Shelton is pouring his soul into his new music.
The cowriters mentioned in the post, Jon Randall and Jessi Alexander, have teamed up with the singer before, co-writing “Drink on It,” and Alexander also helped write “Mine Would Be You” and “A Good Country Song,” as well as Lambert’s tune “Holding on to You.”
Shelton has said he’s back and ready to win on this season’s The Voice. Given that Team Blake has already seen four winners and as many runners up, that wouldn’t be far-fetched — the list of past show successes includes Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbery, the Swon Brothers and Meghan Linsey.
Shelton performed his last scheduled show for the year at Minnesota’s WE Fest in early August, and though his ex-wife headlined just one day prior, the singer did not mention the split onstage. The Voice starts Sept. 21, with fellow country star Brad Paisley joining the show as an advisor to Team Blake. No word on when Shelton’s new music will reach fans’ ears.
