As Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie continues to improve after an ATV accident left her with severe injuries, her sister Britney Spears is thanking fans for their prayers and asking for their continued support.

In a simple post to Instagram on Wednesday (Feb. 8), Britney says that the Spears family is "grateful" for Maddie's progression through her injuries and asks for continued support.

"Thank you all for sending thoughts and prayers our way. Let's all keep praying," she writes.

This isn't the first time Spears has reached out to fans on social media since the accident. She posted a similar message on Monday (Feb. 6) asking for "all the wishes and prayers" for her 8-year-old niece, along with a photo of her.

Artists Who Have Suffered Terrible Tragedies

Maddie was injured on Sunday (Feb. 5) when the ATV she was driving crashed into a pond when she was attempting to avoid running over a drainage ditch. Her mom and stepfather Jamie Watson attempted to free her from the vehicle to no avail. Emergency personnel were on the scene in two minutes to rescue her after she was trapped by her seatbelt underwater, and she was airlifted to a local hospital.

It was reported on Tuesday (Feb. 7) that Maddie is now "awake and talking" and does not appear to have any neurological damage. Doctors were also able to remove the ventilator. Watson, Jamie Lynn's husband, turned to social media to thank fans for support after receiving the good news about his stepdaughter's improvement.

"Thank you to everyone for the prayers. Maddie is doing better and better. Thank y'all so much," Watson writes in an Instagram post, accompanied by a photo that reads "Believe in miracles."

Jamie Lynn Spears released her most recent country single, "Sleepover," in 2016. She shares custody of her daughter with Maddie's father, Casey Aldridge. The singer got pregnant with Maddie in 2007, and she and Aldridge got engaged in 2008. They called off their engagement the following year and ended their relationship in 2010. Spears married Watson in 2014.
