Carrie Underwood took a break from hosting the 2015 CMA Awards alongside buddy Brad Paisley to rock the house with her most recent single, "Smoke Break." The artist wore an edgy black leather ensemble and played her acoustic, adding to the passion and attitude behind her performance.

Despite spending the beginning of the night performing song parodies and cracking jokes with Paisley, Underwood’s vocals were still on point, nailing the song’s explosive chorus and telling the story with meaning during the verses.

Underwood’s most recent album Storyteller released Oct. 23, making her the only artist in the Billboard Top Country Albums chart history to have her first six records hit No. 1. She gets back on the road to kick off the Storyteller Tour — Stories in the Round in January 2016.

The artist is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year as well as Music Video of the Year for “Something in the Water,” off her Greatest Hits album.
