Time is ticking closer and closer to Carrie Underwood's 'The Sound of Music,' and NBC has finally revealed the first commercial for the live broadcast.

Although the clip is only 21 seconds, it starts with a hearty "And ... action!" and doesn't stop for a breath. It is a fast-paced look behind the scenes with Underwood, who looks very much like Maria von Trapp with golden hair braided around her head.

The 'Blown Away' singer is wearing much less makeup than normal to coincide with the role, and it's a great look on her. Her skin is glowing and she looks calm and composed while posing for a photo shoot for the big televised event, clad in a billowy white shirt and a tan dress.

'The Sound of Music' commercial doesn't give any sneak peeks into the singer's vocals for the show. All we know is that Underwood is committed to putting her own spin on the role, and the one and only Julie Andrews gave the singer her blessing as the leading lady.

After the brief commercial, we're even more excited for December, when the country star will lend her signature vocals to the well-loved family classic. 'The Sound of Music' will premiere on Dec. 5 on NBC at 8PM ET.
