Carrie Underwood's album release day concert on Today has been canceled due to NBC's coverage of Hurricane Florence.

The storm is not expected to affect New York City on Friday, but with Category 2 winds and rains expected in North Carolina and South Carolina, the network will be dedicating significant time to the hurricane. Latest projections show Hurricane Florence making landfall at 8AM on Friday (Sept. 14).

Fans hoping to see Underwood on television can still tune in Thursday night to see her on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She'll also be on CBS Sunday Morning this Sunday and Ellen next week. She's in New York City to promote her new Cry Pretty album — her first album in three years and first with new label UMG Nashville.

Illness kept Underwood from promoting the new album in Europe last week, although she did some digital media interviews before canceling a scheduled performance at the Long Road Festival. The 35-year-old is pregnant with her second child. She has not revealed the sex of the baby or shared the due date.

"Love Wins" is the current single from Cry Pretty. It's the follow-up to her Top 10 hit "Cry Pretty," her first song since suffering wrist and facial wounds in a fall at home last November.

Speaking to Taste of Country last month, Underwood said the album packs drama, but a new kind of drama. Gone are stories of cheating men meeting their maker. Instead one finds the kind of real life drama a mother goes through daily. It's a more mature album, she says.
