Charles Kelley and wife Cassie have welcomed a baby boy. Ward Charles Kelley arrived on Thursday morning (Feb. 11), and the couple immediately hit Twitter to gush over their new son.

More details of the birth of the newest Baby Antebellum member were shared at Cassie Kelley’s Womanista blog. Ward Charles was born at 9:20AM, weighing 7 lbs., 9 oz. and measuring 20 inches long.

“We feel like our life just began today and are so grateful for a healthy baby boy in our arms,” the couple remarked.

“We can’t stop staring at him and he hasn’t stopped chitchatting with us since he arrived … He’s got momma’s nose and daddy’s eyes and vocal chords and a head full of blond hair.”

Baby Kelley was due on Feb. 17, and his dad previously expressed some anxiety about attending the 2016 Grammy Awards on Feb. 15 in Los Angeles. His debut solo single “The Driver” is nominated in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category. Kelley revealed his wife was urging him to go, even though that’d be cutting it close to the due date. The Driver album was released on Friday (Feb. 5).

Kelley's baby becomes the third born to a Lady Antebellum band member. Hillary Scott's Eisele was born in July 2013, followed by Dave Haywood's Cash in September 2014. Kelley and his wife have been open about their fertility struggles, admitting doctors gave them less than a one percent change of conceiving naturally. They shared the happy news that they were pregnant in August 2015.

Taste of Country congratulates Charles, Cassie and Ward. More details and photos will be added when they're shared by the couple.
