When it comes to some of country music’s most recognized and respected tunes on our Top 100 Country Love Songs list, Charley Pride’s ‘Kiss an Angel Good Morning’ places just shy of the Top 15.
The simple and sweet song finds Pride explaining just why he walks around with a smile on his face … because every day he gets to wake up and “kiss an angel good mornin‘.”
The song was released in 1971 and has become one of the most famous tunes of his career. ‘Kiss an Angel Good Mornin” ended up topping the charts that year, marking his eighth No. 1 song on the country singles chart. It also reached the Top 20 on the pop charts and Top 10 on the Adult Contemporary charts.
