Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton may be rivals on NBC's reality singing competition The Voice, but the pop star has nothing but good things to say about Shelton's wife, Miranda Lambert.

"Miranda is no joke," Aguilera shared during a recent television appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. "She's awesome. I've become such a huge fan of Miranda Lambert."

Aguilera sang Lambert's praises loud and proud, adding that she would "probably be her" if she were a country singer. “She’s awesome. She’s really awesome. I’ve got to give her kudos!"

Thankfully, she will be her soon, sort of. The pop star has earned the chance to channel her inner Miranda Lambert with an appearance on ABC's drama Nashville this spring. She will play a pop singer who dreams of going country. Aguilera is hopeful that her stint on Nashville will help land her some country singers on The Voice.

“I’ll have something under my belt to get certain steals for these country artists,” she says. “I’ll be like, 'I’m actually on the show Nashville, recording in Nashville …" Surely that will give Aguilera some extra credibility as someone who is able to coach country hopefulys. Of course, she will still have to compete for the singers with one of country music's finest (Shelton), but she's up for the challenge.

Fans can watch Aguilera and Shelton on The Voice on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8PM ET on NBC.
