Clara Henningsen -- who is one-third of the hot new country trio the Henningsens -- married the man of her dreams in a simple outdoor ceremony in her hometown of Atwood, Ill. on Saturday (May 4).

The 23-year-old musician met Jacob Calaway in Septemer of 2011 during a trip to Florida's gulf coast. "A mutual friend introduced us one night when we were all hanging out on the beach," Henningsen tells People magazine. "I had my guitar and they asked me to play some music, so I sang the song my dad and I wrote for the Band Perry, 'All Your Life.' Later Jacob told me that the friend that introduced us kind of nudged him and said, ‘Dude, she's totally singing right to you!' I admit, I kind of was! So that became our song."

The Henningsens consist of Clara, her father Brian and brother Aaron. In addition to writing songs for the Band Perry, they have written for Sara Evans and Wynonna Judd. Their debut album is due soon, and its first single, 'American Beautiful,' has already been released and found success.

Henningsen accepted Calaway's surprise proposal in the same spot where they had first met, but decided to get married in the very house in which her parents raised her and her nine siblings. "It just felt right to get married in the house that built me, the farm where I grew up," she shares. “It is a blessed place.”

She walked down the aisle on Saturday to the accompaniment of her father's recording of 'Beautiful You,' wearing an Allure dress with a "a huge puffy princess skirt." The groom's father, Nathan, performed the traditional ceremony.

The couple plan to honeymoon in the Caribbean, but the trip will have to wait a few weeks. The Henningsens are set to embark on a run of 29 concerts opening for Brad Paisley starting in St. Louis on May 9.

"Jacob and I spent the first year and a half of our relationship long distance," says Henningsen. "We would go two months without seeing each other. It wasn't easy, but it kind of prepared us for the future. We know there will be times we won't see each other for a while. But that's okay. Our love is strong and we are so blessed to have found each other. I am so happy to be married!"

The newlyweds plan to settle in Nashville.
