Dixie Chicks Announce First U.S. Tour in 10 Years

The Dixie Chicks will tour North America for the first time in a decade next spring and summer. The influential trio have just announced over 40 dates in America and Canada to go along with previously announced European dates of the DCX MMXVI Tour.

Natalie Maines and company had been teasing the announcement on social media. Maines actually teased North American tour dates in July when she responded to a Twitter follower who asked if she was ready to “play nice.”

“I’ll never make nice, but I will tour the states again,” the frontwoman said at the time.

North American dates begin on June 1, 2016, four weeks after the Chicks finish the European leg of the tour. Major stops along the way include Chicago, Toronto (two shows), New York City, Dallas, Vancouver and Atlanta before the tour closes on October 10 in Los Angeles. Tickets for all shows go on sale Nov. 20-23, 2015, depending on the city and venue. The majority of the run wraps in August, with just three shows in September and October.

Typically a tour coincides with new music, but the Dixie Chicks haven’t revealed plans for a new album. They’re last album was the Grammy-winning Taking the Long Way album, released in 2006. They toured in support of that album. In the years since the women have pursued individual interests. Emily Robison and Martie Maguire also recorded two albums as a duo called Court Yard Hounds.
