Since learning of the tragic death of Eddie Montgomery's 19-year-old son Hunter, country stars who call him a friend have been taking to social media to offer words of support to the Montgomery Gentry frontman. Reba McEntire, Travis Tritt and more sent the entire Montgomery family prayers in the wake of Hunter's Sept. 27 passing.

Hunter Montgomery died after he was involved in a non-specified accident late last week. He spent time in life support at a hospital in Kentucky before family let him go. A press release came on Sunday morning (Sept. 27), explaining what had happened and that funeral arrangements were pending.

The teen was the youngest of Montgomery's four kids with ex-wife Tracy. The singer owes his life to his kids, as it was during a doctor's visit to repair injuries to a son following a motorcycle accident that the now 51-year-old learned he had cancer. He's since beaten cancer and bounced back after a divorce and parting with his longtime record label home.

Montgomery Gentry released their Folks Like Us album in June. The duo's next scheduled concert is Wednesday night (Sept. 30) in Marietta, Ga. They have tour dates scheduled through mid-November.
