Garth Brooks is back in a position on the charts that he's very familiar with: No. 1. The superstar has reached the top of both the Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck/Mediabase Country Airplay charts with his latest single, "Ask Me How I Know."

This marks the 20th chart-topping single for Brooks and his first No. 1 hit since 2007's "More Than a Memory." Mitch Rossell wrote "Ask Me How I Know," which is his first cut as a songwriter.

"I'm so proud of the Pearl Records team for working so hard for this No. 1," Brooks says in a press release. "Congrats to Mitch Rossell on his first cut...so happy for you, pal!  And to country radio...four decades later, thanks for still believing. I'm humbled and very grateful.”

Garth Brooks' Life-Changing Gifts to Fans

"Ask Me How I Know" tops the charts just one week before the 28th anniversary of Brooks' first No. 1, "If Tomorrow Never Comes," released in 1989. It's the second single off Brooks' 2016 album Gunslinger, which reached the Top 5 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and cracked the Top 30 on the Billboard 200. Brooks was named Entertainer of the Year for the second year in a row at the 2017 CMA Awards.

The legendary star will conclude the North American leg of his three-year World Tour with Trisha Yearwood with six shows in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena in December. Selling more than 5 million tickets, the tour has become one of the most successful shows across the globe.

"So when it’s all said and done and it’s January, it’s funny, what am I gonna miss? I’m gonna miss this. It’s the greatest way to spend your days,” Brooks says in an interview with NewsOK. The superstar plans to take the tour overseas sometime in the future.
