Garth Brooks is adding even more excitement to his massive upcoming show at the University of Notre Dame on Oct. 20. The superstar has announced that he's hosting a soundcheck on the Friday before his history-making performance that students of the university will be able to attend for free.

Faculty and staff will have the option to buy tickets to the soundcheck, with all of the proceeds going toward a scholarship program.

Brooks made the announcement during the Oct. 8 episode of Inside Studio Ghe also shared that fans will get a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like for an artist to prepare for a show during soundcheck.

"Notre Dame is a chapter in the next book of our lives," Brooks said in the broadcast. "I think this is a beautiful thing. You can actually see behind the curtain...so it should be pretty cool."

Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood will also host a Q&A session after the Friday soundcheck performance, with Brooks encouraging fans to ask anything they want, even about the business side of the industry.

Brooks shared why he likes doing these sesssions with Yearwood: "I love doing questions-and-answer with her, because the answer you're going to get from a guy in the business is going to be totally different from an answer you get sometimes from a female in the business, and seeing both those perspectives I think are brilliant," he says.

Though Yearwood will not be at the show on Saturday, she will be hosting a campus tailgate party on the big day that's been dubbed Williams Sonoma Presents Trisha’s Tailgate that will feature her signature fall drink and various bites.

Brooks will make history as the first artist to perform a full concert at Notre Dame's famous football stadium, which holds more than 80,000 people. Weather permitting, the soundcheck will take place at 7PM ET on Oct. 19. Students who present a valid ID will be admitted to the show for free. Brooks makes his Notre Dame headlining debut the following day at 7PM ET.
