George Strait wrapped his most recent run of Las Vegas concerts with a very favorable opinion of his opening act Kacey Musgraves. The legend says performing two songs with the young Texan was something he looked forward to each night.

"It's so much fun to work with her, I think a lot of her," Strait tells Taste of Country Nights. Typically they'd sing "I Just Wanna Dance With You" and "Run" together. Both songs are No. 1 hits, so he'll be able to feature them when he begins his next set of dates in Sin City.

Last week Strait announced he'd perform 2 Nights of No. 1s several times throughout 2017. The shows at the T-Mobile Arena would feature part of his chart-topping anthology on one night, and the rest on a second night. "Burning House" singer Cam will open the shows.

On Friday Strait's newest box set was released, featuring hits, album cuts and two new songs. A song called "Kicked Outta Country" is making waves as it's one he and Jamey Johnson co-wrote about having a tough time getting their music played on the radio. He also co-wrote another called "You Gotta Go Through Hell" with son Bubba and Dean Dillon.

Last month, Musgraves told ToC Nights it was a "huge honor" to be on tour with Strait in 2016.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 75 stations nationwide. Listen to highlights on iTunes or your Android device.
