Congratulations to Jake Owen, who has topped both the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck country singles charts this week with his latest release, 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night.' While he's come close in the past with hits such as 'Startin' With Me' and 'Don't Think I Can't Love You,' the song marks the first time in Owen's career that he has scored a No. 1 single.

"Wow ... Thanks to every fan, songwriter and country radio for giving me my FIRST #1 record," Owen tweeted out on Sunday upon getting the good news. "I'm so blessed and thankful. Ahhh! Happy dance!!"

The song also marks the first No. 1 single for the song's three writers -- Eric Paslay, Dylan Altman and Terry Sawchuk.

"Everything just found us," Paslay told Taste of Country earlier this year of the inspiration behind the song. "None of us had the title coming in that day. Once we got going, the lyrics sounded like a summertime anthem. We decided we wanted to give the people the chance to sing along with the song when they hear it. When we recorded the demo, you could hear that we were having a lot of fun with it. We weren’t sweating over the song in any way. I think we wrote it in two or three hours. It was such a fun experience."
