Jake Owen Raises More Than $200,000 for Charity at Final Days of Gold Tour Date
Owen performed at Holman Stadium in his hometown of Vero Beach, Fla. on Oct. 25, raising more than $200,000 for the Jake Owen Foundation. The singer founded the charity in 2010 to support the Mardy Fish Foundation and expand its support nationally to children battling cancer and other childhood diseases. The foundation also supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Autism Speaks.
The star hosts the benefit concert in Vero Beach every year. Last year’s event raised $125,000 for his foundation. This year, Owen brought along the Eli Young Band, Parmalee, the Cadillac Three and Thomas Rhett to join him for the fundraiser concert.
Owen played to more than 650,000 fans in over 75 cities on the Days of Gold Tour, and he’s on a hot streak in his recording career, too, scoring five No. 1 hits including ‘Barefoot Blue Jean Night,’ ‘Anywhere With You’ and ‘Beachin’.’ His current single, ‘What We Ain’t Got,’ is a step in a much more serious direction for the performer.
