Jana Kramer is newly-engaged to Brantley Gilbert, but that didn't keep the 'Whiskey' singer from accepting another marriage proposal from someone else... for the sake of raising funds for St. Jude Children's Hospital, of course.

During a recent benefit for the non-profit organization in Wichita, Kansas, Kramer encouraged a fan to join her onstage to propose in the name St. Jude Children's Hospital. It turns out the very lucky man was already married -- and his wife was actually the mastermind behind the ploy (watch the proposal here).

When all was said and done, Kramer graciously donated $500 to the organization for her faux-fiance's great sense of humor. The entire program was designed to raise money for the Tennessee-based non-profit, which relies on the goodwill of the general public for financial support. St. Jude Children's Hospital's mission is to never charge a family who is in need of their services.

The humorous gesture was somewhat sentimental, but the impromptu proposal can't hold a candle to Kramer's real-life engagement tale. “He surprised me so much,” recalls Kramer of when Brantley Gilbert popped the question. “It was actually his birthday when he proposed.”

She adds, “He had blindfolded me — and I thought, ‘Why are you blindfolding me?’ He took me to the Ryman Auditorium. And he was like, ‘We always talk about how if it wasn’t for country music we never would have met. About 30 steps to our right is where Johnny Cash and June met.’”

No wedding date has been announced, but the two country stars will continue to focus on their skyrocketing careers while planning their big day. Kramer and Gilbert will both compete for the 2013 ACM New Artist of the Year trophy during next month's award ceremony.
