Unsurprisingly, Jason Aldean and Ludacris made headlines when they pulled together two of music's genres -- country and hip-hop -- for a larger-than-life delivery of Aldean's 'Dirt Road Anthem' at the 2011 CMT Music Awards.

The song is already a bit of a blend, given that Aldean shows off his own rap skills in the verses and it was co-penned by Colt Ford, but with Luda on board, fans of all kinds just couldn't get enough. There's really no question why this rose to be one of the Top 10 News Stories of 2011.

In fact, the pairing was such a success that Aldean and Ludacris joined hands again on Dec. 1 for the Grammy nominations concert, performing their anthem a second time. But that's not all -- just a few weeks ago, the legendary rap icon tweeted that he was hard at work in a Nashville studio with Mr. Aldean, so there will be more collaborations to come in 2012.
