Australia's Country Music Channel just announced their CMC Awards for the year, and Aussie country star Keith Urban took home the award in two categories. After bagging the awards for Video of the Year for his crossover hit 'Without You' and International Artist of the Year, Urban tweeted early this morning (March 16), "SO thrilled to win Video of the Year and International Artist of the Year at the @CMC_Australia Awards!!!!!!! THANK U for voting!!!!!!!!"

Of the five main awards dished out by CMC, the 'You Gonna Fly' singer took home all but three. The finalists are decided by fan votes, which began as early as Dec. 1, 2011. Others who made the top five in this year's coveted awards were Australian country star Jasmine Rae, who took top honor with CMC Oz Artist of the Year; James Blundell, who snagged the CMC Hall of Fame Award and Peter McWhirter, who was crowned CMC New Oz Artist of the Year.

In addition to the two recent awards from his home country, Urban recently watched his single 'You Gonna Fly' hold the No.1 spot on the country singles chart for both Billboard and Mediabase for two weeks solid.

Urban is also getting ready to step into the shoes of a celebrity coach for Australia's version of the hit show 'The Voice.' While he knows he'll have to vote people off his team and give them honest feedback, the laid-back artist implied in a recent interview that he's not setting out to be the next Simon Cowell of reality singing shows but is looking forward to the chance to invest in some younger artists.
