LeAnn Rimes and Gavin DeGraw’s voices dance around each other like children at the Maypole during “Celebrate Me Home,” a simple Christmas song that’s being used for big things. An emotional music video turns their duet into a reminder of why it’s important to honor our military veterans.

Lyrically, “Celebrate Me Home” doesn’t talk about soldiers serving overseas. It’s a homecoming song that’s somewhat open for interpretation. One won’t find a hint of sadness in either singer’s voice as they look forward to the holidays.

“Home for the holidays / I believe I’ve missed each and every face / Come on and play one easy / Let’s turn on every love light in the place / It’s time I found myself / Totally surrounded in your circles / Oh, my friend,” Rimes sings to begin.

From there DeGraw joins her and takes his own verse. Their chorus is a big production, with each singer doing his or her best to keep up with the other:

“Please celebrate me home / Give me a number / Please celebrate me home / Play me one more song that I always remember / I can’t recall / Whenever I find myself / Too all alone / Sing me home.”

Find “Celebrate Me Home” on Rimes’ new Today Is Christmas album, available now. She’ll begin the 2015 Today Is Christmas Tour on Dec. 4 in Tacoma, Wash.
