Songs about men who've done you wrong are common at the weekly Song Suffragettes performances in Nashville, so it was fitting that they closed a recent show with one from Carrie Underwood. Watch the group cover "Cowboy Casanova," a song from Underwood's 2009 Play On album.

From left to right that's Jordyn Mallory, Tiera, Kalie Shorr, Cali Rodi and Kim Paige. Shorr — the #LetTheGirlsPlay artist for May 2015 — begins the song and plays guitar before Paige closes the first verse. All five harmonize during the chorus, with Rodi providing the deep tones.

Tiera and Mallory split the second verse and then Rodi returns to take the soulful bridge. This is how the group closes each of their Monday night shows at the Listening Room in Nashville. Every week five girls are picked to play three original songs in the round. The group is selectively chosen for their talent, potential and commitment to a career as a singer or songwriter.

Taste of Country is proud to team up with Song Suffragettes to shine a spotlight on the talented rising stars of country music. Every month, one girl is featured in the #LetTheGirlsPlay series. This month's artist was Karli Chayne.
