Singer-songwriter Lindsay Ell is also known as one of country music’s best guitarists. She even gives guitar lessons on Periscope and Facebook, teaching technical skills to beginners and intermediate-level players. Prior to her Country Jam performance, the “By the Way” singer gave a lesson in looking cool.

Backbends, facial expressions and a proper stance are all part of what makes a guitarist look great on stage. In this “tutorial,” Ell teaches Taste of Country’s Billy Dukes the finer points of her craft. Soon after she put her tricks to practice on stage, thrilling the audience during a Day 4 opening set at Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colo.

Ell also played Never Have I Ever — the guitar version. Fans learn how much time she spends practicing playing and looking cool, as well as tips for playing with your teeth and prioritizing men and guitars. There’s one rockstar move she hasn’t perfected, however. Watch until the end to see what she’s a little too afraid to try. Find her lessons regularly at Twitter on Facebook.

Nearly two dozen artists played 2016 Country Jam last weekend. Nearly 90,000 fans packed the Country Jam Ranch to see Lee Brice, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Zac Brown headline the four-day festival. Most artists stopped by to talk with fans prior to the show. Video highlights below.
