Luke Bryan joins a small group of country artists who've watched their new albums go Gold in the first week of sales. Actually, he joins just one other artist who has done it in the last five years.

'Crash My Party' is the No. 1 album in America, selling almost 528,000 copies during street week.

That total is the third highest of the year, behind Justin Timberlake's 'The 20/20 Experience' (968K) and Jay Z's 'Magna Carta … Holy Grail' (528K+). Billboard reports that Bryan and Taylor Swift are the only singers to sell a half million copies of an album since 2008. Swift has done it three times.

The title track of Bryan's new album reached No. 1 prior to the album's release, and 'That's My Kind of Night' has been storming up the charts since it debuted. Earlier this year, the Georgia-born singer's 'Spring Break … Here to Party' album also hit No. 1. His 2011 album 'Tailgates and Tanlines' has gone double Platinum.

The last male country singer to release an album and find more commercial success was Tim McGraw. In 2004, 'Live Like You Were Dying' sold 766,000.
