Luke Bryan is gearing up to co-host the ACM Awards this April with Dierks Bentley, and he couldn't be happier about his new co-host. In a recent interview with The Boot from his Rodeo Houston concert, Bryan revealed what ACM viewers can expect from the big night in Las Vegas.

“Dierks can read better than Blake,” Bryan jokes. “He’s just smarter than Blake.”

While the jabs between Bryan and Blake Shelton are ongoing, Bryan adds that since he's now the "veteran host" of the show, he may have to pull the weight of the awards show. “I’ll have to assume the role of responsibility and carry Dierks through this thing," he insists.

Bryan — who is nominated in the Entertainer of the Year category at the ACM Awards alongside Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks, Eric Church and Miranda Lambert — says he always most looks forward to the monologue at the awards show.

“It’s always fun kicking off the show, doing the monologue,” he reveals. “It sets the tone for the night.”

The "Huntin' and Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day" singer will co-host the 2016 ACM Awards live from Las Vegas on April 3, airing on CBS at 8PM ET.

Bryan was set to play a concert on Saturday (March 12) in Bossier City, La., but due to record-setting rains and massive flooding in Louisiana, the show has been moved to May 18. All tickets will be honored on the new Kill the Lights Tour date in May and Dustin Lynch will serve as the opener.
