Most fathers would be thrilled if their son dated Taylor Swift. Michael J. Fox is not one of them.

Apparently, the 'Back to the Future' actor's ears perked after Tina Fey made a jab during last week's Golden Globes ceremony about Swift's serial dating ways. Joking on stage, she told the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer to stay away from Fox's 23-year-old son, Sam.

If Fox has it his way, his son would heed Fey's warning about the country music superstar.

"I don’t keep up with it all. But Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right?" Fox asked Vulture in a recent interview, adding, "What a way to build a career."

The esteemed actor may not know Swift from the next young Hollywood starlet, but he knows well enough that a seething breakup song would be inevitable should Swift and his son date... and that his offspring would endure one of the nasty splits Swift has become known for.

"Yeah, exactly," says the actor. "'Sam, You Piece of Sh--.' Oh … that was the girl you brought home," he joked.

Swift has suffered somewhat of a media backlash following her recent split with One Direction's Harry Styles. The young relationship seemed to be over before it really even started, leaving many to question the 23-year-old pop-country artist and her judgement concerning relationships. Swift's romantic tabloid tales have almost overshadowed her ever-skyrocketing career as one of the the hottest recording artists in music.

Now is a better time than any for Swift to take a step back from dating and focus on her music career. The music mogul is currently prepping the launch of her 2013 Red Tour, which is set to kick off on March 13 in Omaha, Neb. The 58-date run will visit 45 cities in 29 states before wrapping in Nashville in September. Swift's 'Everything Has Changed' duet partner, Ed Sheeran, has been tapped to provide opening entertainment.
